Our Founder’s Journey
Tracey Williams
For over 27 years, Tracey Williams has dedicated her work to building a more inclusive Bay Area by creating social and economic opportunities for marginalized communities. As the Executive Director of urban university (uu), she has spearheaded workforce development programs, revenue-generating initiatives, and housing pathways with a unique focus on the well-being and upward mobility of single mothers. Under her leadership, uu has empowered over 2,000 low-income individuals through a comprehensive ecosystem of services, including employment success programs, social enterprise opportunities, and transitional housing in partnership with the Oakland Transitional Housing Alliance and the City of Oakland’s coordinated entry system for unhoused families. Williams has also promoted a more inclusive workforce by delivering learning opportunities to both entry-level employees and frontline supervisors.

Founder & Executive Director
Tracey Williams is a passionate community leader, social entrepreneur, and lifelong advocate for equity. With more than 27+ years of experience serving the Bay Area, she has built a career centered around creating opportunities for those most often left behind — especially single mothers and unhoused families. Tracey brings both lived experience and visionary leadership to her work, combining compassion, strategy, and innovation to drive real impact in the lives of others. Her approach is deeply rooted in service, collaboration, and a belief that everyone deserves the tools and support to thrive. Outside of her professional accomplishments, Tracey considers her greatest achievement to be raising her two beautiful adult children, all while showing up every day for her community. -
Eneisha Andrews
Team Lead, Employment Social Enterprise
Eneisha is the Lead of urban furniture and boutique - urban university’s Employment Social Enterprise. In this role, Eneisha leads the operation of the resale store which includes working with the Executive Director on earned revenue goals, facility management, onboarding and training of new program participants, contracts new artists, plans social enterprise events and supports the e-commerce and sewing project initiatives. Eneisha is a proud graduate of the Single Moms at Work Program, holds an A.S. Degree in Information Technology at City College of San Francisco and possesses extensive experience in customer service. Eneisha is a proud single mother of two children. -
Georgia Cameron
Keyholder, Employment Social Enterprise

After her successful completion of the Single Moms Pathway Program in 2023, Georgia was promoted to Keyholder, an entry level management role at urban furniture and boutique. During days of operation, Georgia maintains store opening and closing responsibilities, processes donations from the community, and regularly interacts with the uu community. She also contributes to a pilot program where successful cohort graduates provide program development feedback based on her lived experience. Georgia is the proud mom of a seven-year old.
Tracey’s commitment continues
As Founder and Executive Director, Williams leads the strategy across all aspects of urban university: Urban Furniture and Boutique, The Workshop (uu’s latest learning space), the Moms on a Mission (in partnership with A Diamond In The Ruff) and Single Moms Pathway housing programs (as part of the Oakland Transitional Housing Alliance). She continues to expand her knowledge base and has completed the Accelerator Program for Social Enterprise Leaders with REDF (2024) and the Executive Program in Social Entrepreneurship at Stanford Graduate School of Business (2018). Williams also holds an A.S. in Liberal Studies from Contra Costa College and has pursued further studies in Human Development at California State University East Bay.
